Lady Gaga performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco at Levi Stadium. She kicked off the game between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. She joins the list of already announced performers that include Coldplay and Beyoncé during the Pepsi halftime show.
She if you look at buzz on twitter ranks equal to or better than Whitney Houstons performance, which to this day stands as the best rendition of the National Anthem.
Lady Gaga will also be performing at the Grammy awards where she will be paying tribute to David Bowie in a special performance that will last six to seven minutes spanning three to four songs.
Ken Ehrlich producer for The Grammys, says it will be a tribute to the true Bowie. “….is going to be a true homage to who David was, particularly musically, but not ignoring his influence on fashion and pop culture in a broader way.”
Prior to Bowie’s death Lady Gaga told The Hollywood Reporter about her admiration for the rocker. “When I fell in love with David Bowie, when I was living on the Lower East Side, I always felt that his glamour was something he was using to express a message to people that was very healing for their souls.”
In addition to these two big events Gaga is looking toward the Academy Awards where she is nominated for her work on the original song “Til It Happens To You”. She also earlier this year was a winner of a Golden Globe for her role in “American Horror Story: Hotel”.
