It was supposed to be a big day for Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort on Earth Day April 22 when Rivers of Light was supposed to make its debut. Today the company announced though that there would be a delay in the new offerings at the park.
The company has announced no new date for the offerings saying that the creative team needs more time to bring the experiences to life. The plan was to allow guest to experience Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the magic of animals and nature transforms from day into night.
“While we’d hoped to debut these offerings on April 22, unfortunately, they will not open as planned on that date as we give the team more time to bring these innovative experiences to life in a way we know will exceed our guests’ expectations,” said Andrea Finger, a Walt Disney World spokeswoman.
The Walt Disney Company did not release a new date for the debut of Rivers of Light or the new Nighttime Safari saying instead that an announcement about a new date would be made in mid to late May.
Rivers of Light will showcase the beauty and wild unpredictability of animals and nature in an all new five thousand seat amphitheater on the Discovery River Lagoon that lets the audience to be a part of the show. As you watch the show you’ll experience nature with the backdrop of the Tree of Light, it’s a beautiful mythology that brings together different form of light along the rivers.
