At the recent D23 Expo in Anaheim, California The Walt Disney Company announced some big news for Hollywood Studios at The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Among the big announcements was Star Wars land and a Toy Story Land. This was a highly anticipated announcement as die hard fans of Disney theme parks have been wanting the company to show Hollywood Studios some love.

The new area which is a large expansion of the park will add 11 acres of fun transporting guest to one of their favorite Pixar worlds. Toy Story land will take guest into the adventurous outdoor world of Andy’s backyard. It’s going to be as though you have be shrunk down to the size of a toy when entering the area that will be full of oversized toys such as building blocks and game pieces.

New Attractions

This new area will continue to host the ever popular Toy Story Mania ride which will include a new third track to help increase the ride capacity and hopefully cut down on the wait times. The land will also feature two new attractions that are sure to have every kid buzzing.

• Family-friendly roller coaster – All on the back of Slinky Dog, this coaster will zip and zoom, plunge and coast as it takes guests on a fun, toy-filled adventure throughout the new land.

• Alien saucers attraction – The famous little green aliens from the movie will take guests around for
  a spin in their very own flying saucers. The music, lighting and sound effects add to the flurry of action, while “The Claw” looms over.

This is just one of the many new areas that will be coming to the new re-imagined Hollywood Studios over the next few years as The Walt Disney Company re-invests into this park that will now take you into the movies as opposed to its previous theme of taking you behind the scenes of movie making.
